The vaccination clinic for Milton-Union staff members is scheduled for Friday, February 26, 2021 at Troy High School from 2:30 to 3:30pm. Including travel and for employees to arrive on time, Milton-Union is planning an early release for students. Students in grades six through twelve will be released at 12:30pm, and K-5 students will be released at 1:30pm. District transportation will still be provided.
Because of inclement weather, quarantine requirements, and other unforeseen circumstances, our students have already missed so many opportunities for in-person learning. Although remote instruction when school is not in session has been an allowable and appropriate substitute, it remains a distant second to the person-to-person, classroom experience. Without question, this makes all the difference in the world for successful teaching and learning especially with state-mandated testing on the horizon for staff members and students. A shortened day of in-person learning is preferable.
All of us have had to adapt and adjust as our circumstances during the 2020-21 school year continue to evolve, and we appreciate your continued patience. (In fact, our staff members have not yet received information to schedule their specific appointment times within the assigned, vaccination window for Milton-Union.) Regarding Friday’s early release, we sincerely apologize for the delay, but we will continue to communicate information to our staff members, students, and families when available.
Thank you for your patience and continued support of our schools!
