Because the Milton-Union School District campus continues to function as a polling location for area precincts and due to the upcoming Ohio Primary, students will not be in session on March 19, 2024. The following adjustments will be made.
- Teachers and staff members will report to their buildings and departments on March 19.
- Students will be assigned work to complete remotely and submit to their teachers. Completion of assigned work will document student participation and engagement for the day.
- On March 19, teachers will be available to provide support at designated times throughout the day and can respond to email, Teams, and Seesaw messages from students, parents, and families with questions.
- More information regarding class/course assignments and staff member availability will be communicated from each building and teacher closer to March 19.
Also, on Monday, April 8, 2024, citizens in Miami County and the surrounding area will experience a total solar eclipse at roughly 3:00pm. County officials and organizations expect this once-in-a-lifetime event to bring large numbers of visitors to the area based on estimates from a previous eclipse in 2017. Traffic could be affected for hours, and more rural areas could see increased traffic as well. Because we cannot predict the number or impact of visitors to the area on or before April 8, the Milton-Union Schools will not be in session.
Throughout the area and including West Milton, some cities, villages, and organizations are planning family-friendly and educational activities to celebrate and enjoy the event as communities. This change in the school calendar will allow parents, families, and students the opportunity to attend and participate as well.
If you have questions, please contact one of the building offices or Board of Education. Thank you for your continued support of the Milton-Union Schools.
